New Directions Drop-In Aide Part-Time Aide
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or GED, current Michigan Driver license in good standing required, and previous experience as a member in good standing of a Drop-In Center preferred. Must be a former or current recipient of mental health services. No history of substance abuse-related convictions with-in 6 years.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Shiawassee Health & Wellness, an innovative Community Mental Health organization, is seeking a part time aide for New Directions Drop-in Center to provide recovery-oriented support to individuals with mental illness and substance use disorders. New Directors provides opportunities for social connection, healthy activities and accessing resources for individuals actively receiving mental health services and individuals in various stages of recovery. The Drop-in Center Aide will apply their own recovery experience to offer understanding, hope and build a sense of community. The Drop-in Center aide will assist in facilitating activities, light meals, and community outings.
Responsibilities include modeling appropriate behavior for New Directions members, assisting in conflict resolution, scheduling and/or transporting members, answering phones, and light to moderate housekeeping.
